About the Trip

For the past 100 years, B’nai B’rith Camp (BB Camp), located on the Oregon Coast, has created meaningful Jewish experiences for children and teens. This summer, BB Camp, in partnership with JCC Maccabi Israel, is proud to launch our new BB Camp Teen Israel Experience Trip. Joining teens from Camp JCA Shalom, located in California, BB Camp teens will follow an itinerary made just for them, filled with unique hands-on experiences at various “must-see” destinations throughout Israel. Guided by inclusivity and core values, our Teen Israel Experience Trip focuses on leadership development, creating valuable connections with each other and Israel, strengthening Jewish Identities, and hands-on experiences. Teens will discover the beauty of Israel’s culture on this incredible adventure!

BB Camp is thrilled to be a recipient of the RootOne Teen Israel Initiative, a project that prioritizes the amazing impact that a trip to Israel can have on teens, especially a trip that is rooted in Camp values. RootOne is seeded through the generosity of The Marcus Foundation, and is powered by The Jewish Education Project. Safety & Communication

BB Camp, in partnership with JCC Maccabi Israeloperates BB Camp’s OJA in Israel program. All JCC Maccabi Israel programs are designed with health and safety in mind and are monitored 24/7 by Israel’s official “Situation Room” providing real-time safety and security guidance.  As teens’ safety as the guiding priority, they stand ready to adjust policies and schedules based on local conditions.

BB Camp leadership will be in daily communication with BB Camp’s OJA trip staff and JCC Maccabi Israel Trip organizers. BB Camp will send weekly parent communication with trip highlights and updates.

We know that families might be hesitant about sending their teens abroad during this time of uncertaintyBB Camp operates with health and safety as our highest priority adhering to COVID-19 mitigating guidelines.
If traveling abroad becomes challenging due to COVID-19, no problem! BB Camp is committed to creating innovative programs. If necessary, we will pivot to a more traditional OJA in the Pacific Northwest. Either way, we will provide an incredibly meaningful experience for your children this summer. Please see the General BB Camp COVID-19 FAQ page. Please keep in mind that COVID-19 mitigating protocols stated in the FAQ will be adapted to fit an Israel travel trip.
