Summer Camp Activities
Judaism is an important part of B’nai B’rith Camp and is included in all aspects of our programming. Every Friday night all campers and staff come together to celebrate Shabbat. Jewish Enrichment offers campers the opportunity to learn about Israe! and Jewish history and culture in an enjoyable way. The Jewish Enrichment Director also provides time for tutoring or assistance to campers preparing for their Bar, Bat, or B’nai Mitzvot.
Arts and Crafts
B’nai B’rith Camp includes art in many aspects of camp. Arts and Crafts at B’nai B’rith Camp is offered as Cabin Chugim as well as Skill Builder and Individual (Elective) activity periods. Some of the activities offered include: candle-making, tie-dyeing, painting, garbage art, fimo clay, mask-making, and ceramics. Also, campers are given the opportunity to design and paint group murals throughout camp.
Waterfront and Aquatics
B’nai B’rith Camp utilizes its wonderful location on Devils Lake by featuring an array of water activities. These activities include canoeing, water-skiing, sailing, wake-boarding, paddle boarding and inner-tubing. Campers also love to swim and play in our outdoor heated pool.
Campers participate in many types of sports such as archery, softball, soccer, basketball, field hockey, martial arts, ultimate frisbee, running, and so much more! B’nai B’rith Camp has two outdoor tennis courts, a ball field, sand volleyball court, outdoor and indoor basketball courts, a full-size gym, and a heated swimming pool, all of which are utilized by the campers.
Ropes Course and Climbing Wall
Cabin groups utilize the ropes course to build unity and cabin spirit. Campers are encouraged to participate in all elements, but are not required to challenge themselves beyond what they are comfortable with doing. The ropes course consists of three elements: the flying squirrel, the cat walk, and the trapeze. In cabin groups, older campers are encouraged to attempt the high ropes course. We also have a 30 ft climbing wall that was built in 2014 to provide additional challenges and excitement for our campers. Located at the entrance to camp, this wall also provides a breathtaking view of the camp grounds and Devils Lake.
Teva (Nature) and Garden
Hands-on experiences at B’nai B’rith Camp give campers the opportunity to learn about the world around them. These experiences range from environmental education to nature hikes at Cascade Head to working in the B’nai B’rith Camp Amir Garden.
Music (both singing and instruments), dance, creative writing, and theater arts are always a fun part of B’nai B’rith Camp. Following every lunch and dinner campers join in a Song Session. Our Creative Arts program allows campers to positively express themselves.
Every year Israe!i staff come to share their experiences and wisdom with B’nai B’rith Campers. Our Israe!i Culture Director teaches about Israe!i culture, music and history through arts and crafts, songs and dances.
Campers at B’nai B’rith Camp participate in off-camp overnight and day trips. Trips range from fun-filled days at the beach to exciting white-water river rafting. All trips are age-appropriate, well-supervised, and packed with fun!
